CyclingRoutes.cc was born out of frustration — and a lot of browser tabs.
My name is Tommy. I am a road cyclist based in Oslo, Norway — twelve years on the bike, with a lot of those kilometres spent in places I had never been before. Wherever I travel, the bike comes with me.
For years, I was the person in my cycling group who planned the routes. Before every trip — Mallorca, the French Riviera, the Costa Blanca, the Norwegian fjords — I would spend hours researching. Cross-referencing Google Maps, Street View, Strava, travel blogs, forum posts. Trying to figure out whether a road was actually rideable, what the surface was like, where to stop for food, where to stay.
What I wanted was simple: one place with all of that information. Not just a GPX file, but the full picture. Elevation, surface, food stops, the best café on the route, which climbs are worth the effort, how the road feels on the descent. A site built by someone who actually rides — not an algorithm, not a database dump.
That site did not exist. So I built it.

There are plenty of websites that show cycling routes. But who made them? Do they actually know how to build a good route? What kind of riding do they prefer? Without answers to those questions, you are taking a risk — and nobody wants to discover a terrible road surface halfway up a mountain in a foreign country.
Every route on CyclingRoutes.cc has been curated with care. We tell you the surface, the elevation, the difficulty, the best season, where to eat, where to fill your water bottles and what to expect on the descents. You should be able to plan your entire cycling trip from a single page — and trust what you find there.
We are building this one route at a time. Slowly, carefully and honestly.
